How to Make Bone Broth - Recipe

BONE BROTH– slow cooker/crock pot/pressure cooker.

Broth is amazing and one of the forgotten superfoods!
Bone broth has many health benefits as well as being extremely palatable and tasty for your pets! Bone broth seems to entice the fussiest of pets!

Benefits include:

*A good source of protein

*Assists with digestive health

*Aids recovery

*Assists with renal health, the amino acids aids with reducing inflammation

*Great for skin health -collagen to help with skin elasticity and hair growth

*Hyaluronic acid which helps skin retain moisture.

Directions 

500-2 kilos of bones, depending on the size of your pot.

Chicken necks and feet, fish heads or brisket bones are most commonly used but most bones will suffice. (Try using bones with a lot of cartilage).

Add just enough water to cover the bones. Top up during if needed.

Add apple cider vinegar- 1-3TBS

Allow to sit for 20-30 mins BEFORE heating the pot

Then cook for 12-24hrs in the slow cooker. 2-4 hours if using a pressure cooker.

It is complete when the bone goes mushy between your fingers, if not can leave up to 72hrs.

When cooking is complete drain broth, allow too cool a bit then pour into glass containers. Then refrigerate until the broth forms jelly like consistency. Can be frozen in suitable containers.
